INTRODUCTION
The Academy was originally established at the University of Mississippi in 1974, under the full title of "The American Academy for the Promotion of Scientific Research. It remained a research student society for several years under the leadership of of noted concert Pianist Dr. Parks Grant.
Today, the learned society is internationally based and has members in over 30 countries. The academy is self-governing and independent but has ties with other learned societies around the world. The society has several sections of membership, including: Honorary , Academician, Associate and Affiliate. The first three sections are by invitation only. The Academy's main goal is to provide a scholarly avenue through which individuals may meet and discuss medicine, science, religion, the arts, humanities and other fileds of academic interest and provide papers, books and research on the aforementioned topics. We are also deeply involved in helping foreign scholars in need or in peril. Additionally, we serve as a peer-review journal for doctoral students or new doctors to the fields of medicine, the natural sciences and social sciences.
Members are encouraged to come by the center and look over the lab and research equipment. They are also allowed to submit research requests and have their experiments conducted in our facilities. Individuals only pay for chemicals. Although we have a very small facility, we are dedicated.
