Affiliations

The IAPSR creates affiliations with related organizations that are not solely web based. In order for an organization to create an affiliation with the Academy there are some minimum requirements that we set:

- the organization must be registered in the country of origin,
- in case of universities, they must be nationally accredited in the country of origin,
- compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations in their country of origin and US Law,
- no conflict of interest,

Affiliation with the Academy serves the purpose to enhance the Academy’s goals namely the promotion of scientific research. The international network that the academy has created is to be used for this purpose only. Members and liaisons of the Academy are expected to contribute in forms of articles, essays and other ways of being involved with the promotion of the Academy and the sciences.

The Academy was originally established as a graduate organization at the University of Mississippi in 1974. It remained a student society for several years under the leadership of the noted musician and composer Dr. Parks Grant. Drs. Joseph Bruening and Allen Cabaniss also took occasional roles in developing the Academy. Today, the learned society is internationally based and has members in over 25 countries. The Academy is self-governing and independent but has ties with other learned societies around the world. The society has several sections of membership, including: Academician,  Associate and Friend.  All academic levels are by invitation only.
